Too often car stickers are applied incorrectly, which leads to an unusable sticker and a waste of a purchase. Below is a quick and easy 7-step applying guide to help our customers in applying our products for the best results possible.
Step 1 – Receive Your Sticker
When you receive your sticker in the post, you will notice that the sticker comes sitting on a piece of backing paper, with clear application tape covering the sticker. If the sticker does not arrive in this manner, please contact us immediately.
Step 2 – Clean The Surface
When you are ready to put your sticker on the surface you wish to place it on, you must first ensure the surface is completely clean and dry. Using a cloth, wipe the area you wish to place the sticker on until it is fully clean and completely dry.
Step 3 – Remove Backing Paper
The next step in applying the sticker is to remove the backing paper by lifting the sticker and application tape away from it. Choosing one corner, peel the application tape back, lifting the sticker with it from the backing paper.
Should any of the sticker not lift with the application tape, immediately place the application tape back onto the sticker and rub the area until it lifts with the tape.
Step 4 – Place Onto Surface
Whilst holding the sticker tight at both corners, place the sticker onto the surface which is now clean and dry. In order to avoid as many air bubbles as possible, hold both corners of the application tape as tight as possible whilst gently relieving pressure to allow the middle of the sticker to sit onto the surface first. You should then also gently let the left and right sides down onto the surface.
Step 5 – Apply Sticker
Using a cloth, credit card or rubber squeegee (as shown above), rub the sticker hard down onto the surface. Starting in the middle, apply pressure to the sticker using your chosen item and then move the item to the left and then to the right whilst still applying the same amount of pressure. This will help remove the possibility of air bubbles and apply the sticker correctly.
Step 6 – Remove Application Tape
The last step in applying your newly-purchased sticker, is to remove the application tape. Once you are happy that you have rubbed the sticker down as much as required as shown in step 5 above, remove the application tape from the sticker by peeling it back starting in one corner. Having chosen a corner to start with, slowly and gently peel the tape away from the sticker until all that is left is the sticker itself.
Should any part of the sticker peel of with the application tape, immediately place the tape back onto the surface and rub the area down until it no longer lifts with the tape.
Step 7 – Admire
All your hard work has now paid off. Your sticker is finally on your chosen surface and it looks great. Now all you have to do is stand back and admire it.
